I wore a bow tie three days this week...people noticed because I wore one on a day that was not Tuesday, otherwise they were unaffected. The world did not tilt off its axis.
This is a good sign - I'm thinking of going to two days a week with the BT - they're fun. Plus it makes up for all the years of not wearing one.
Clothes have become important to me in the last two years. Having a signature (i.e. sending a message) especially one that I hope is seen as professionally serious, is something that matters to me. Dressing well in public draws people to you - I've made acquaintances at the Publix because of the BT's...
Shoes and socks matter as well. You'd be surprised at how many pairs of shoes I have been able to acquire in the past two years, socks as well. No longer just black - in fact I may not own any "just" black socks anymore.
